Pastor Dudley Invites Residents to Learn More About the Crisis
January 21, 2016Pastor Dudley was the first to speak at the previous town hall meeting, held at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch, CA. The meeting was held on Dec. 17, 2015. Pastor Dudley commenced the meeting with a prayer for the residents of Porter Ranch who have suffered because of the Aliso Canyon gas well blowout.
Pastor Dudley has been part of the thousands of residents who have evacuated into temporary housing and hotels in order to recover from short-term illnesses caused by the gas well blowout. Pastor Dudley stated to have suffered from constant headaches while he remained in Porter Ranch. He also urged residents to come to a decision themselves after listening to the information provided by the panelists.
On Oct. 23, 2015, Southern California Gas Co. discovered a massive gas well blowout in its Aliso Canyon facility. It was then discovered that the company knew about the possibility of a future crisisfor over a year and yet failed to follow proper safety protocol. Gov. Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency and residents have been forced to live in temporary housing until the crisis blows over. Children are facing their own unique set of mental and physical health issues because of the crisis.
